Exchange Funding Opportunities

Study Abroad Fund (Current UPEI Students)

The Study Abroad Fund (SAF) was established by UPEI, as part of our student mobility program, to provide financial assistance to UPEI students who wish to undertake international placements as part of their educational experience. The maximum award is $250 CAD per course, per applicant.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are in good academic standing and have a minimum grade average of 70%.
  • Will be returning to UPEI for at least one term following the experience (some exceptions may apply, please contact the International Office)
  • Will be receiving academic credit for the international placement (funding will not be available for individual travel, research or data collection activities)
  • Have completed 10 full academic credit courses, i.e., 60 credit hours at UPEI
  • Are currently a full time student
  • Have not received the award in the past

SAF will support study, work or practicum placements of at least four weeks duration for which degree credit at the University of Prince Edward Island will be given. Completed applications will be assessed by an impartial selection committee of representatives from UPEI. Application deadlines are as follows:

Students should submit their applications to the SAF Committee, through the International Office. Applications can be emailed to Sherilyn Acorn-Leclair, Mobility Coordinator, or dropped off at the Webster Centre in the Robertson Library.
